There is something to be said about getting up early working out, and getting it done... People  often ask me how I  get up so early to workout... Well, it's not just a one answer, answer...

My answers are:  It works for me... I am at my best in the morning... It's easier for me just to get up and go by myself... I really want to be Healthy... I really want to be Fit...I really want to be Strong... It's important to me... I value exercise... I need this for me... I need this to be a better mother...I need to release stress...I want to know how far I can push myself... I like it... I feel great after my workout... I am selfish when it comes to my workouts...I could go on and on and on...  These are just some of the reasons I get up at the crack ass of dawn to workout...

Anyone can get up early, or 30 minutes earlier then their normal wake up time to  workout, it's just writing it down or  telling yourself you're gonna do it. You can come up with all the excuses in the world, you can blame everyone and everything out there, but ultimately you're the only one that can change it... People can motivate, inspire, and help you, whatever, but your the one that's gotta get your ass off the couch and get down to the gym or go outside for a Walk, Run, Jog, or Wog, whatever... You can do anything you put your mind to...  It's entirely up to you... Now, you may not be very good at it first, you may not like it, it may cause you stress and pain, but if you put your mind to it, YOU CAN DOOOOO IT!!!  If I sound too harsh in the above paragraph, You've got the point!!! :o)

Left that class drenched in sweat with a Red face... Yep this Olive girl had a sweaty, red face...Great workout for the legs today... Feb 13, 2011 **Elliptical

I had a great workout today...  I have a bum knee so it was the Elliptical for me... I won't be running until my knee stops hurting so it's gonna be me and the Elliptical for a little while... I have been reading articles online where people have actually used the Elliptical to aid in their marathon training because of an injury... Or even, some people have done all marathon training using an Elliptical...   I did have questions if an elliptical mile was different then a running mile... What I read was "a mile is a mile" regardless if it's cycling, running or ellipticalling (don't think that's a word, yet), what makes them different is the intensity of each exercise...  So for now, I will be using the elliptical along with a knee brace until my knee is feeling good enough to run, or until I re injure it again from running...

  • 1:02:42 Time
  • 743 calories
  • 5.60 miles (Elliptical) I wonder if it's the same as running mileage??? I know it isn't intense like the pounding of pavement.

Feb 12, 2011 **8 Miles of Running...

30 degrees outside this am... brrrr....

Even with as much trouble my knee gave me on this morning run, I felt really good afterward... I did some speed walking when the pain became unbearable that seemed to help a bit... I have to admit, I felt kinda of funny speed walking, I could only imagine what I must have looked like... But you know what, as funny as what I imagined myself looking like, the speed walking helped tremendously!!  Later though, I found if I kicked it up a notch an ran at a 9.00 minute mile or so the pain in my knee subsided... Weird, I don't understand!  But when I ran at that pace my heart and lungs began to hate me...LoL...

So I have come to the conclusion that I like short distant running, meaning nothing over 14 miles... So I will probably stick with half marathons after I complete the LA Marathon, that is provided my knees and hips don't give out on me... I am SOOO READY for the Marathon Training and Marathon to be over... I will continue to run any where from 3-5 miles a few times a week just to keep my running endurance up...I have little running endurance as it is, but what I do have I would like to keep...

Feb 8, 2010 4 Miles of Running

Whooo Hoooo!!! I got my run in tonight!!! I was kinda hesitant with 19 mph winds, and some out of the blue, random shooting at our local high school... I kinda felt like I was in North Hollywood, Ca with helicopters flying around this evening... Nice people here in Hutto, TX though... Gina and I were running down Carl Stern, when a car with a lady and man stopped, rolled down the window to warn us about the shooting.   One of the things I like about this town... Anyway, I am getting off the topic... Nice run this evening... 4 miles, 57 degrees... I haven't run  outside since my 16 miler...  Honestly, my body was tore up after that run, then the weather went below freezing, so all running was done on a treadmill... Did I tell you how much I despise treadmills?  It was great to get back out there, felt like the good old days when Gina and I first started running, we reminisced about our first 5k race together; how we thought 4 miles was going to kill us; reminisced about our first straight 4 mile run... It made me smile...

It was just a good run...

Bloggity Blog Blog

Well, I've been off the grid for about a week now. Sometimes I have a hard time trying to maintain my life, much less a blog, LoL.  My husband he's always saying, pick one thing and focus on it, but that's not my personality.  I have this overwhelming desire to try everything, don't ask because I don't know or understand it myself.  It's  a longing  sensation I have to do it all, if that even makes any sense.

So I've decided to log all my physical activities, training for upcoming events, food logs, changes in my diet, weight loss and weight gain.  I have joined Healthy Hutto Wellness Challenge 2011, not to win but to hold myself accountable for my continued weight loss... I have 30lbs, I need to lose to get to my goal weight!
