Today is the last training day for the 2010 San Antonio Rock N Roll Full and Half Marathon... Well, technically it isn't for Gina and I, we're actually running this as part of our training for the Austin Marathon, but none the less it's training...I ran with Erika, Gina, and Heather... I wore Shorts and a tank top, weather was cool, but HUMID... Run was good, pushed myself, probably should not have... Hamstrings are tight, felt tightness in my gluts, found it to be interesting; these areas typically don't bother me... calves actually felt good...
Rating: G for Good Run
So I should have gotten up this morning and run at 5am, but was unable to because of an ulcer I have...
Yesterday, I came home not feeling too well, I thought it would go away but it didn't. ULCER flare up, not so much fun... LoL... No, really not so much Fun!!! Anyway, I thought I would be able to push through it, and still be able to run in the morning... Uh, that would be a NEGATIVE... Mr. Ulcer decided to wake me up at 2am, I then decided to Facebook everyone to let them no I would not be able to run with them. I felt really bad, because everyone was coming over to my hood... Anyway, my mood today was more of , I'm drained, I'm behind kinda feel, mixed in with some anxiety(which is great for ulcers, LOL), and a dose of your a SLACKER!! So I waited to see how I felt this evening, and decided to run at least 3 miles out of the 4... So now I feel good, on task, not behind...Weather was nice, a little humid, but cool... Jeanna came over and ran with me... It was a nice run, we chatted, we ran slow and leisurely... Glad I went out and did a little running, I don't feel like a slacker now... LoL...
Ran with my running buddy, Gina... Weather was about 41 degrees, run started off rough as usual, I get to mile 2 and start to feel really good, heavy breathing subsides, now just to worry about my sore hips... I run like this way for about 2 miles, at a comfortable pace, feeling really good, and positive about this running thing, then the heavy breathing and panting starts again, weird, just weird...
Today's run was tough considering I ran with Dru, my three year old daughter. It proved to be much work; pushing a jogging stroller just messes with your running form, and let me tell you, I have a hard enough time trying to master running form all together! It wasn't all that bad though, she does make me laugh! She is a very passionate, feisty and determined kid! Anyway, Dru really thought she was going to run with me! I asked her this morning, if "she wanted to go for a run with Mommy", she was very excited. During the run she kept asking me when she was going to get to run, so I let her get out of the stroller about a quarter of a mile away from our house, and she ran. She ran the whole way pushing the stroller. It was great to see the enjoyment on her face... I wish I could enjoy long distance running like that, but for me this is not about enjoyment, it's about challenging myself to see if I can conquer running!
Today's run was very cold. My fingers did not work the way they should, and my knees kept locking up;literally felt like I needed to be oiled! It is definitely time to invest in some winter running attire. I went home, and thawed out in the shower using up all of the hot water, LoL. I will say it was a good run, even with the cold weather, and the unexpected hills! You see, when I mapped out the run, I had NO idea there were going to be hills! I am satisfied with today's pace and time, maybe one day I'll be faster! :o)
Ran by myself today, literally scared myself to death... LMAO!!! I guess you had to be there. Any how, I was running, looked to my right, noticed a shadow, it startled made me and made jump... I then realized it was my own shadow!!!
